During World War 1 David Fletcher Jones (Sir David Fletcher Jones OBE) and his mate Stan Clapton shared ideas for a future in the peacetime. One was to buy a wagon and couple of horses to sell “wares” in country areas. In 1918 they purchased a wagon and set of through Western Victoria, where the farmers’ wives taught them about value and quality.

Today, with stores across Australia, Fletcher Jones remains a wholly Australia owned company, continuing the tradition of high standards of quality apparel.
